Our Focus

The YMCA of Titusville strives to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.  We are committed to the promise that all persons shall have access to all of its programs, facilities and employment without discrimination based upon race, religion, color, creed, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability or financial hardship.

Our three core focus areas are: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

Pre-K

Tiny Footsteps (Pre-K Readiness)

A fee-based program for children ages 3 through 5 offered at the Education Center.  Children receive breakfast, lunch, and a mid-afternoon snack.  Skills development and activities include: writing, color and shape recognition, alphabet cognition, story time, math and science exploration, arts and crafts, technology education, structured group physical education and free-play, social and cultural activities, as well as local field trips.  Older children in the program attend K4 at the Early Child Learning Center in the mornings, and are bused to the Education Center for lunch and afternoon activities with the other children in the program.

Food Program (CACFP & SFSP)

A hot dinner is served daily Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM September through early June. During the summer program (early June through late August) breakfast is served daily  Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These meals are provided free of charge at the YMCA Education Center to any child up to age 18 in the community.

Youth

 

Open Gym

The gym is open during normal business hours for any member to use, unless activities are planned or otherwise noted inside the building.  We feature a full basketball court, a huge supply of equipment ranging from basketballs, baseballs, hockey sticks, dodge balls, soccer balls, hacky sacks, and more.  Come get physical after school and break a sweat in our gym.

Game Area

On the side of the gymnasium we have table tennis and foosball that can offer hours of entertainment. This area can be utilized by any member of the YMCA during normal operating hours. 


Gymnastics

Recreational Gymnastics

The Titusville YMCA offers two recreational gymnastics programs. These programs run in one month sessions year round. The recreational gymnastics programs are designed to teach children fundamental gymnastics skills, sportsmanship, and to have fun while staying physically active.

   Tiny Tumblers

  • Ages 3 - 5
  • 45 minute session, one day per week

   Beginners (Recreational)

  • Ages 6 and up
  • One hour session, one day per week

Competitive Gymnastics Team

The Titusville YMCA Twisters gymnastics team competes in the Western PA YMCA Gymnastics League. Team members range in age (5-18) and skill level (Level 2-9). Gymnasts compete in four events, which include uneven bars, beam, floor exercise, and vault. The team practices year round, with competitions beginning in October and ending in March. Championship meets are held in the months following for gymnasts that qualify. To join the competitive team, the gymnast must be invited or have skills evaluated by the head coach. A Titusville YMCA membership is required per Western PA YMCA Gymnastics League rules to participate in competitive YMCA gymnastics.


Swim Team

Boys and girls ages 6 to 18 compete in inter-YMCA, regional, and state competitions. Swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool and skills will be evaluated by the head coach to make sure the swimmer is ready for the competitive swim team. Practices are held at the Titusville High School on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Meets are held on Saturdays.
A YMCA MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

Home School Gym

Learn sports skills and have fun playing games in the gym. Open to any child who is home schooled. This program follows the TASD schedule, and is held Fridays from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is designed to expose you to self-discipline skills, increase self-confidence and physical conditioning. Tae Kwon Do is great for individuals and families.

21st Century Community Learning Center After-School & Summer Enrichment

Every child deserves the right to be the best he or she can be. Children are our future and most valuable resource. We owe it to them to provide the opportunities for each and every one of them to reach his or her potential.

Funded through grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the 21st Century Community Learning Center after school enrichment program is open for all youth in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Staff include certified teachers, human service professionals, and program specialists.  All staff have required clearances and all key staff are certified in First-Aid and CPR.  The YMCA of Titusville is a Department of Public Welfare state licensed facility and a member of the National After School Association, and the National Summer Learning Association.  We also participate in the Keystone Stars initiative.

HOW TO ENROLL: For your convenience enrollment forms are available for printing from the links listed below. Application forms are also available at Main Street, Hydetown, and Pleasantville elementary schools and the Titusville Middle School as well as the YMCA of Titusville.

All completed enrollment form must be returned to the YMCA of Titusville, and not the individual schools. Submitted enrollment forms will be reviewed and you will be notified after we have processed your application. Incomplete sections or missing forms can result in a delay of the processing of your application.

Youth Activities

Youth Tennis

This program will focus on the fundamental skills in tennis such as the forehand and backhand swings, volleying, serving, singles play and doubles play.  Through fun tennis games and drills, students will develop hand-eye coordination, agility, and motor skills.  Tennis is a physical activity that provides benefits which can last a lifetime.

Outdoor Club

This program provides and opportunity for kids to unplug and enjoy being outdoors.  Participants will be involved in instructor led activities around Drake Well such as hiking, biking, fishing, field games and more.

Golf League 

While playing on a par 3 golf course, students will focus on swing fundamentals, chipping, putting, driving, club choice, rules and etiquette.  Golf is a great lifetime activity that can improvce social skills, hand-eye coordination, motor skills and much more!

Marathon Kids

Marathon Kids works for any kid, at any fitness level.  Kids set their goals and track their progress on a journey to complete a marathon over the course of the summer.  They run or walk, a lap at a time, and before they know it they've gone farther than they ever dreamed.  For a little extra motivation, they earn fun Nike rewards at milestones along the way.

Pick-Up Basketball

Send the kids down for some time on the court!  Kids will be supervised from 5:00-7:00 PM as they play half court games.  Free for members and a small fee for non-members.

Youth Weight Training

Youth Weight Training is geared towards middle to high school students that are interested in beginning weightlifting. This instructor led class will teach proper form, lifting safety, spotting, human anatomy and different types of exercises.

Speed & Agility Training

Work with a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to improve your speed and agility for better sports performance.  The six week program will involve drills and exercises to progressively make athletes faster and maneuver better.

William J. Flemming Wellness Center

Our qualified staff is ready to construct a workout plan specifically designed for you. Our newly renovated center houses the newest and finest equipment available. Come try it out, the first visit is free. The Wellness Center is open to all members 13 years of age and up during normal business hours.

Low Intensity

Balance and Fall Prevention

Stability starts here as you develop muscles that are vital for balance and to protect against falls.  This class will help to reduce injuries, increase flexability, strengthen muscles, and improve posture.

Silver Sneakers Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support.

Walk Group

Take your fitness outdoors this summer.  Meet with a group at the YMCA every Monday and Wednesday to go out on a walk!

Medium Intensity

Aquatic Conditioning 

In this class you will get your heart pumping while water jogging, treading, swimming, and jumping and tone up using the resistance of the water and kickboards. There will also be some bonus dry land strength and core work.

Body Sculpting

Strengthen and tone during a full body workout using free weights, resistance bands, body bars, stability balls, medicine balls and medicine balls.

Cardio Blend

A mix of cardiorespiratory exercises, including step, kickboxing, cardio ball and more, that challenge the heart, lungs and lower body. Strengthening of the abdomen, buttocks, and legs follows the aerobic workout.

Cycle Express

A 30 minute bike ride to get a great workout with all of the same exciting aspects of “Group Cycle.”

Pilates

A stress relieving, low impact mat workout with a strong focus on core conditioning, while improving muscular strength, flexibility, balance, and posture. 

Zumba

Latin inspired dance-fitness class that incorporates international music and dance movements. Zumba creates a party like atmosphere that provides a non-intimidating opportunity for non-dancers, new exercisers or those looking for a change of pace.

 

High Intensity

Boot Camp

A high intensity workout combining calisthenics, aerobic conditioning, and weight training.  Movements can be modified to suit all fitness levels. 

 

Circuit Training

Work your way through multiple stations designed to improve cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness. This workout can easily be modified to accommodate various fitness levels.

Cycle 'N Core

During this energizing workout, you start with an intense group cycle to improve cardiovascular fitness and leg strength, and finish with abs and lower back exercises to give you a rock solid core. 

Group Cycle

Ride through mixed terrains (hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials, and interval training) on an indoor bike. The instructor leads you through a heart pumping, high energy workout, allowing you to control the intensity of your ride.

High Intensity Weigh and Cardio

Push your limits with this high intensity class with varying workouts focusing on strength and cardiovascular conditioning. 

Pump 'N Ride

Get the best of both worlds! A mix of "Group Cycle" and "Body Sculpting," which provides a great cardiovascular workout and full body toning and strengthening.


Tae Kwon Do

SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength and Range of Movement

This is the nation’s leading fitness program for older adults, and available to qualified members of a participating Medicare health plan. Check with your health plan provider to see if you qualify.

Open to both YMCA of Titusville members and non-members.

SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength and Range of Movement
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Participants will alternate using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball with non-impact movements. A chair is offered for additional support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. Please wear athletic shoes, comfortable clothes, and bring a bottle of water.
