Gymnastics programs at the Y are designed to teach children fundamental movement and gymnastics skills, sportsmanship, and to have fun while staying physically active. Recreational gymnastics programs (Tiny Tumbler and Beginner) are great for children that are interested in trying out gymnastics, have the desire to progress to competitive gymnastics, or just want to improve their athleticism and have fun.
The Titusville YMCA Twisters gymnastics team competes in the Western PA YMCA Gymnastics League. Team members range in age (5-18) and skill level (Level 2-9). Gymnasts compete in four events, which include uneven bars, beam, floor exercise, and vault. The team practices year round, with competitions beginning in October and ending in March. Championship meets are held in the months following for gymnasts that qualify. To join the competitive team, the gymnast must be invited or have skills evaluated by the head coach. A Titusville YMCA membership is required per Western PA YMCA Gymnastics League rules to participate in competitive YMCA gymnastics.
