Active Minutes Challenge

Join the Active Minutes Challenge at the Y for more incentive to keep active this winter! YMCA Members and Lose2Win participants are welcome to join the challenge. Your goal is to get at least 1,000 active minutes during the 6 week challenge! That is equal to approximately 167 minutes per week, or about 34 minutes/day if exercising five days/week. It is recommended that you engage in at least 150 minutes of physical activity/week for health benefits.

  • Challenge Dates: January 8 – February 19 (6 weeks)
  • Activity that is completed at the YMCA counts toward your active minutes. This could be cardio or resistance training in the Wellness Center, walking around the track in the gym, participating in group exercise or cycling classes, or participating in adult sports.
  • Each day you complete active minutes at the Y, write your active minutes and the date completed on a tracking form at the Wellness Center desk.
  • Updated total active minutes will be posted in the Wellness Center every Monday and Thursday.
